MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer Princess Abante, spokesman of the House of Representatives, wore a shirt bearing the word 'forthwith' on Wednesday as she expressed the House 's hope that the Senate would wait for the Supreme Court to resolve the motion for reconsideration before deciding on whether to proceed with Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
'Ang pananaw pa rin po ng House of Representatives, hindi pa final 'yung desisyon sa Supreme Court kaya nga po at the very least sana hintayin 'yung final disposition ng Supreme Court doon sa na-file na motion for reconsideration bago magkaroon ng desisyon tungkol sa anong mangyayari doon sa impeachment proceedings', Abante said.The House filed a motion for reconsideration before the High Court after it dismissed the impeachment complaint against Duterte, citing the one-year ban.
