Vice President Sara Duterte is not the country’s caretaker while President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is in Lao PDR for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez told Palace reporters that the caretakers are Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, and Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla.Chavez said Bersamin chairs the committee of caretakers.

''It is an Executive Committee chaired by ES, with Secretaries of Justice and Agrarian Reform as members,'' Chavez said.Duterte was always one of the caretakers when the President was away for state, official, and working visits to other countries.To recall, Duterte was Marcos’ running mate in Eleksyon 2022.Their relationship turned sour, with Duterte saying that she was never friends with Marcos.
