Hiniling ng kampo ni Vice President Sara Duterte na ibasura na ng Supreme Court ang inihaing petisyon laban sa paglilipat ng P125 milyon na confidential funds sa kaniyang tanggapan noong 2022.
Sa 19-na pahinang komento, sinabi ni Duterte na dapat ibasura ang petisyon dahil wala itong ipinakitang aktuwal na kaso o kontrobersiya sa paglilipat at paggamit ng pondo.“No question, no matter how interesting or compelling, can be answered by this Court if it cannot be shown that there is an ‘actual and antagonistic assertion of rights by one party against the other in a controversy wherein judicial intervention is unavoidable’,” ayon sa komento.
Kabilang sa petitioners sina dating Commission on Elections chairperson Augusto Lagman, 1987 Constitution framer Christian Monsod, dating Department of Finance Undersecretary Maria Cielo Magno, Chairperson of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas Imelda Nicolas, Atty. Ibarra Gutierrez III, Katrina Monsod, Ray Paolo Santiago, Honorio Poblador III, Vicente Romano III, Rex Drilon, at Miguel Jugo.
Ilang abogado, at dating opisyal din ang naghain ng hiwalay na petisyon tungkol sa naturang usapin, gaya nina dating Justice Antonio Carpio, Atty. Howard Calleja, JP Calleja, at dating senator Richard Gordon.
