Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte vouched for the integrity of teachers —- especially those that teach in public schools — and praised their dedication to their profession.

This statement was issued a day after Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo said that teachers may “favor certain” individuals should they get involved in the agency’s distribution of educational cash aid to students in crisis. She also recognized their contribution to nation-building since the responsibility to guide the students to learn and achieve their dreams in life lies in their hands.
