Political differences aside, Vice President Leni Robredo hailed the Duterte administration, especially its economic managers, for the country’s inflation rate of 2.7 percent last month.

Robredo, the leader of the opposition, gave credit to the economic managers for taking steps to bring down the rate of increase in consumer prices for the benefit of Filipinos.

The inflation rate eased to its slowest level due to cheaper costs of rice as well as free tuition for students in state universities and colleges, according to the official data released. Robredo, who is the highest elected official from the opposition Liberal Party, said she spoke with Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III about the matter.
