An online post showing Vice President Leni Robredo’s photo and her quote about water in connection with the issue against the country’s two biggest water concessionaires was fake, her office said.
Robredo, a lawyer, shared a screengrab of the Facebook post and reminded the public to be discerning when it comes to social media posts that spread false information.
Robredo has been calling out social media posts by trolls containing false information about her to debunk and correct them. “Vice President Leni Roredo did not say this ridiculous quote about the water crisis and the big businesses. No reputable media organization has reported it and it has been spotted on the disinformation network of the pro-administration trolls,” it said.
