VP Duterte focuses on tourism, education in Capiz festival

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte asked the local government of Capiz province to boost its tourism and disaster preparedness system while calling on communities to prioritize peace and order and education for children. | ManilaBulletin

The official was the guest speaker at the 122nd Founding Anniversary and Maragtas Cultural Parade at the Capiz Provincial Capitol in Roxas City, Capiz.

“I encourage our local leaders to strengthen mechanisms that will bolster your tourism potentials — and at the same time, build up the capacities of other sectors important in your economic growth,” Duterte added. The Vice President reminded Capiznons of the importance of disaster preparedness and the need for communities to be resilient to the impact of weather disturbances because the province is vulnerable to typhoons.

But for the people to have the freedom to maximize their potential and pursue their dreams, Duterte stressed that this would come from the maintenance of peace and order in the province.
