As the country commemorates Araw Ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor on Sunday, April 9, Vice President Sara Duterte called on Filipinos to show “gallant acts of kindness and bayanihan” and work together to strengthen democratic institutions. | ManilaBulletin
In her message, Duterte recalled how the Battle of Bataan, which led to the fall of Bataan to Japanese troops during World War II, “left an indelible mark of Filipino patriotism, courage, and resilience in the face of insurmountable adversity.”
“As we honor the heroic courage of our fallen heroes of Bataan, may we be inspired to demonstrate gallant acts of kindness and bayanihan among our kababayan from the most vulnerable sectors,” she added. “Let us walk together on the same path of bravery as we pursue socioeconomic advancement, uphold lasting reforms, and encourage one another in promoting the deep love of country that is founded on our shared quest for a brighter tomorrow for every Filipino,” Duterte said.
