DAVAO City Vice Mayor J. Melchor Quitain wants the current city government chief to run again for mayor in the 2025 elections.
Quitain said during a press conference on Tuesday, September 17, that he would support Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte ’s move should he decide to run for a second term..'Well, I cannot really say for certain but for me personally, I hope he will run again for mayor. I want him to be mayor still of Davao City ,' he said during the Aprubado sa Konseho presscon at the Sangguniang Panlungsod.As of now, he has not personally discussed any election-related topic to the mayor.
He has not mentioned if the Hugpong ng Pagbabago , the regional party founded by the mayor's sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, will be invited.Meanwhile, Sebastian Duterte recently joined the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino , formerly known as PDP-Laban, where the party president and the mayor's father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, led the oathtaking ceremony in Davao City.The young Duterte was also appointed as the party's executive vice president.
