This year, the French Film Festival has a feminist slant that celebrates the stories of women and/or the acclaimed work of women directors.
SM Aura, SM North The Block, the Alliance Francaise de Manille, the UP Film Institute, and the De La Salle College of St. Benilde are the venues for the films that will be exhibited, and the movies are all free for viewing.
During the opening ceremony held at the SM Aura, it was touching to hear French Ambassador Marie Fontanel be especially impassioned about the year’s theme and how dialogues set during the week-long festivities would involve French female directors flown in for the occasion and homegrown Filipina directors.
SM Aura, SM North The Block, the Alliance Francaise de Manille, the UP Film Institute, and the De La Salle College of St. Benilde are the venues for the films that will be exhibited, and the movies are all free for viewing. At SM Aura, the films run until Nov. 26 at the Director’s Club, and until Nov. 29 at SM North The Block.
