Vigan City Mayor Bonito Singson has tested positive for COVID-19, the city government announced in social media on Thursday.
The mayor is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and is currently under quarantine while receiving "proper medication and care."
Operations at the City Hall, meanwhile, will not be affected as all offices and departments will remain open to the public. Singson reminded his constituents to continue adhering to the minimum health protocols, saying there is a “sudden surge” in the spread of COVID-19. Earlier, the Department of Health reported 4,533 new cases of coronavirus infections in the country. This brings the nationwide tally to 3,818,480, and active infections at 37,962.-- BAP, GMA News
