MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas has been playing well thanks to its connection to captain and setter Jia De Guzman.
This is the reason Vietnam star Thi Thanh Thuy Tran, also known as 'T4', cited following her team's and Philippines FIVB Women's Challenger Cup match at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday.T4's Vietnam won the knockout quarterfinal match, 25-14, 25-22, 25-21.'Philippines' performance is very well because they have a good connection with the setter,' said T4.' a very interesting match up because she played in Japan and she played a lot.
On the other hand, T4, who was recovering from an injury, played limited minutes and scored two points on top of nine excellent digs.T4 was also part of the Vietnam team that ruled the AVC Challenge Cup here in Manila last May albeit she did not see action as she was recovering from an unspecified injury.In the same tournament, De Guzman claimed the Best Setter award all the while helping the Philippines claim a historic bronze medal.
