In January 2023, York police say search warrants were executed at a storage locker in Vaughan and a residence in Richmond Hill. Video released by police showcased the $8.9 million in cocaine, $260,000 in cash and $100,000 in luxury clothing that were seized during the investigation. Both accused were at the residence during the raid and were arrested, say police.
Two Richmond Hill residents face a number of charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession proceeds of crime.Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Projects Unit have charged two people and made a large seizure of cocaine as part of an investigation dubbed Project Aries.
