More than 300 homes and businesses in southern and western Victoria are in the dark, after Powercor crews restored supply to almost 10,000 customers overnight.Falling trees have damaged power infrastructure in Woodend South and Gellibrand, affecting a total of 174 households and businesses in that area.

Additional crews have been placed on standby to deal with the demand. As of 10am, there was one active outage impacting 133 Jemena customers in the Melbourne suburb of Maidstone.
