THE Zamboanga Valientes called up former NBA Star DeMarcus Cousins as their import in the final leg of The Asian Tournament.
The four-time NBA All- Star joined the training of the Valientes on Saturday at the Activate Hoop Center in Mandaluyong. Cousins , who is also playing with the Taiwan Mustangs, looks forward to bringing his experience and talent to the Philippines.'Everyone is talented, and everyone is serious about winning, It's a good move, and I am excited to be here. I can't wait to get on the floor and play with the guys,' Cousins told the press after the training.
This is the first time that Zamboanga Valientes book a ticket in the leg finals of the Asian Tournament after defeating the Vantablack Dragons last June 21.Looking to secure the championship in the tournament, Zamboanga signed the six-foot-10 import, coming to finals appearance.Zamboanga Valientes initially wanted to sign Dwight Howard, but after a series of negotiations, the team settled for Cousins.The last time that Cousins played in the NBA was in 2022 with the Denver Nuggets.
