VALENZUELA City Mayor Weslie Gatchalian announced on Friday that the city government has started administering a second booster of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine for the general public.
This, as he revealed that Covid-19 cases in the city had climbed from nine cases in April 11 to 40 cases as of April 20.'Although we can say it is not alarming, this tells us that we should not slow down and everyone must make sure they are protected against this deadly disease, hence, our vaccination drive continues,' Gatchalian said.He said the City Health Office has already released the guidelines on how residents can avail of the second booster dose.
We highly encourage everyone to get their booster doses for extra protection against Covid-19,' the mayor added.The CHO said those who are 18 years old and above who have been inoculated with the first booster dose six months before the second booster may avail of the program.There are also specific guidelines to follow for pregnant and lactating women as well as immunocompromised individuals.
