Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Susan Ople called on overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Sudan to return to the Philippines and be safe with their families amid the ongoing conflict in the said African country. ManilaBulletin

Ople said the conflict in Sudan will not be resolved immediately that’s why she was urging them to just return home.

According to the DMW chief, they are currently “exploring the possibility of booking a chartered flight to bring 340 Filipinos home from Egypt.” Ople said the conflict in Sudan will not be resolved immediately that’s why she was urging the affected OFWs to just return home. Citing their recent briefing, Ople said 777 Filipinos have reached out to the DMW to seek help in crossing the Sudan-Egypt border.
