The judge set bail at RM3,500 for each charge with one surety and Aug 14 for mention.
Clad in a white robe, Ab Malik Hussain, from Kota Baru, Kelantan, pleaded not guilty to both charges under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act before Sessions Court judge Azizah Ahmad here yesterday.
The offence is punishable under Section 233 of the same Act, where those found guilty could be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed for up to one year or both. Mohamad Khazali Yin, who represented Ab Malik, said his client was the sole breadwinner of his family, which included his 58-year-old wife who was not working and two children, aged 13 and 10.
