CEBU CITY — An 18-year-old athlete from the National Capital Region emerged victorious in the individual poomsae secondary boys taekwondo competition last Friday, July 12.
Eljay Marco Vista topped the competition with a performance marked by commitment and exceptional technique, scoring 8.667 during the event held at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City in South Road Properties, Cebu City.He edged his closest competitor, Caleb Angelo Calde of the National Academy of Sports, who scored 8.567. The National Academy of Sports is sending its own delegation in the games for the first time this year.
The strength, because I see the dobok echoing, and the kicks are high. In the way that I watch them, I also want to match them,' Vista said.'So I just want to say to everyone who wants to become a strong player, find friends who push you upwards,' he added.Reflecting on his intensive training regimen, participating in four sessions daily, Vista expressed satisfaction with his win, seeing it as validation of his dedication and perseverance.
