Rising star Angge Poyos powered University of Santo Tomas in a five-set thriller and dethroned defending champion De La Salle, 25-20, 16-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-7, in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball Final Four on Sunday night, May 5, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

In front of a mammoth crowd of 19,505, the España-based squad took all its chances and made the strongest case of possibly earning the coveted collegiate title.

Exactly five years ago on May 5, 2019, UST defeated La Salle in their Final Four showdown to secure its final seat. Jonna Perdido contributed 18 markers highlighted by 16 kills as she continued her particularly exceptional showing against the Lady Spikers.
