WASHINGTON — Republican candidates in the upcoming US midterms will accept the results regardless of whether they win or lose, the party's chairwoman assured Sunday, as Donald Trump's camp faces scrutiny over election denialism.
Asked directly whether every Republican candidate will accept the results even if they lose, McDaniel responded: "They will." Kari Lake, the party's far-right candidate for governor in Arizona, for example has refused to say whether she would honor the results. "We'll see what happens," the Republican senator said, according to The Washington Post, adding: "Is something going to happen on Election Day? Do Democrats have something up their sleeves?"
