US court approves settlement of class-action lawsuit vs. PLDT

PLDT Inc. said Thursday a United States court approved its settlement of a class-action lawsuit alleging the company overstated its capital expenditures by about P48 billion between 2019 and 2022.

“The investors alleged that defendants made materially false and misleading statements regarding PLDT’s capital expenditures and internal controls at various times between 2019 and 2022,” PLDT said. “The settlement contains no admission of liability, fault or wrongdoing by any defendant,” PLDT said.
