The partnership aims to designate UPLB as a strategic site for planting coconut seedlings and leverage UPLB's expertise in agricultural innovation and research to revitalize the coconut industry.

The agency noted that this renewed partnership reflects the crucial role of academic institutions in driving sustainable agricultural initiatives and advancing the growth of the coconut industry.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said he ordered the expansion of the Protein-Enriched Copra Meal commercialization project to the region to boost local livestock production.
