UPEI nursing student Emily Wylie is being selected as P.E.I.’s Winter 2023 participant in the Workplace Readiness Program. ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — UPEI nursing student Emily Wylie is being selected as P.E.I.’s winter 2023 participant in the Workplace Readiness Program.
Wylie was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder in early 2021. That September, she started her university studies.When working as a residential care worker and taking on extra coursework over the break, she got the confidence to continue studying in the fall.She described it as “a big step I had wanted to take for a while but was never quite ready for."
With the help she received, the school year turned out to be different than she imagined as she received achievements like making it onto the dean’s honour list.
