Thunder Bay Airport closed due to a suspicious package
THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Airport has reopened after being locked down late Thursday afternoon as police investigated a suspicious package found in the building.
The airport announced the reopening around 5:15 p.m. to passengers and members of the public who had been waiting outside the terminal. In a statement, the airport authority said terminal had been deemed safe. The Thunder Bay Police Service was investigating the incident, with multiple cruisers on site Thursday.
The incident caused passengers on some recently arrived aircraft to be held on board before disembarking.
