Five Philippine universities made it to the World University Rankings for 2024 by global education specialists Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), with three of them rising from their previous ranks. READ HERE:

The University of the Philippines rose to 404th from 412th among universities worldwide, followed by the Ateneo de Manila University, which ranked 563th, up from its previous rank of 651-700th place.De La Salle University was in the 681-690th place, rising from its 801-1000th place, while the University of Santo Tomas remained at the 801-850th place.Cebu-based University of San Carlos entered the QS rankings for the first time, taking the 1201-1400th place.

QS Vice President Ben Sowter said the rising rankings of Philippine universities can be attributed to excellent employment-related indicators such as employer reputation and employment outcomes. However, they face challenges in research metrics such as citations per faculty and international research networks.'For now, the nation's research efforts need improvement, emphasizing the importance of global collaboration and investing in trained lecturers,' Sowter added.
