UP boots out FEU, bolsters semis bonus bid
MANILA, Philippines: The UP Fighting Maroons booted out the FEU Tamaraws and bolstered their Final Four twice-to-beat incentive bonus bid, scoring an 81-64 win in the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, November 11.UP rose to 10-2 to solidify its hold of the top spot and improved its chances of finishing top two in the eliminations which merits a twice-to-beat semifinals incentive.
FEU can only win five games at max, not enough to stay in the hunt for the fourth spot which will either be clinched by Ateneo or Adamson both carry identical 5-6 slates.One of them will get win no. 6 as they battle on Sunday.UE, carrying a 4-7 slate, is also in play for the fourth and final spot. The Red Warriors take on the Final Four-bound Red Warriors on Sunday in a bid to stay in contention for a semis spot.
