Perhaps it's to save the boys from gold diggers.

A local university has stated that anyone in a car with a member of the opposite sex can be fined RM30.

According to Sin Chew, citing a guideline on car registration posted by netizens on social media, the institution is a public university in Kedah. The ruling, which is said to be issued by the university’s security department, will not apply if the occupants are married couples. The guideline reads: I understand and agree that the university reserves the right to impose a penalty amount of RM30. If the vehicle is used to carry members of the opposite sex , the vehicle registration certificate can be cancelled.Netizens said the rule doesn’t make sense as people in the car could be siblings. At the same time, others said universities are supposed to produce students who can think and be rational.
