The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Monday said the unified 911 emergency response system is expected to partially start in July.In a press conference, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the program will be rolled out first in Ilocos Region, Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao “I think July ang Region 1, NCR, Region 7, at BARMM. Tapos every month all the regions,” he said.
“In less than one month, i-bid out natin ang unified 911 system para sa buong Pilipinas. Unified na. Ngayon kasi 35 ang emergency call numbers. Gagawin nating centralized na siya,” Remulla said.The unified 911 system has geolocation tools, live-streaming capabilities, and integration of police, fire, and medical services, according to Remulla.“Kung nakikita niya sa dito, police lang ang nag-respond, pero wala ang fire, wala ang paramedics.
