The five players who were replaced in the Gilas Pilipinas roster days before the start of the Asian Games earned the gold medal as much as those who played, naturalized player Justin Brownlee said.
Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva, Jason Perkins and Mo Tautuaa were originally listed in the Gilas roster for the Asiad, but they were deemed ineligible a few days before the team is set to fly to Hangzhou.
“We did not have a lot of time together to practice for this.
