A serious incident involving police near Barrie on Tuesday night has led to the province\u0027s Special Investigations Unit being called in.

In a statement, the province’s Special Investigations Unit said, “Inside the residence, there was an exchange of gunfire between the man and officers. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The officers were taken to hospital where they died.” OPP at the scene of a shooting in Innisfil that left two South Simcoe Police officers and a 23-year-old male suspect dead.
