IPIL, Philippines – Two municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay had already declared a state of calamity on Monday due to the surge in dengue cases.
– Two municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay had already declared a state of calamity on Monday due to the surge in dengue cases.Records from the Office of the Provincial Health Officer showed that Buug had recorded at least 236 dengue cases from January until June 29 this year, a 742 percent increase from 28 for the same period in 2018. Diplahan, on the other hand, had 221 dengue cases or 4,320 percent increase from five cases for the same period last year.
Overall, the province had registered 2,588 cases of dengue with 10 deaths from January until June 29 this year. This represents a 1,625 percent increase from last year’s 150 cases.
