Prelude to the Best Sommelier of Canada Contest | SaltWireSYDNEY, N.S. - Two Cape Breton residents designated as sureties now face charges connected to an individual’s breach of court-ordered conditions.

Bryan Charles Penny, 74, and Gloria Florence Chisholm, 67, are charged with obstructing police following a Cape Breton Regional Police compliance check on Colin James Penny, who’s ordered to reside at a Millville residence and be in the company of two sureties. Officers confirmed Penny was not present at the residence and were given information about the whereabouts of him and his surety, which later proved to be false.

Police later located Colin Penny in Sydney, where he was arrested and then remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre charged with four breaches of his court-ordered release conditions, connected to previous charges for firearms, ammunitions and unauthorized possession of police articles.Read more
