Meanwhile, while no tropical cyclone wind signals are hoisted, the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” will be enhanced by Rosal and will bring occasional gusts reaching gale force in Batanes and in the Babuyan Islands, while strong breeze to near-gale strength should be expected in Ilocos Norte, the northern and eastern portions of Cagayan, and the eastern portion of Isabela.
Torres added that aside from rain brought by Rosal’s trough, the tropical depression is not expected to bring heavy rain in the country throughout its remaining forecast period.
