Drag queen Trixie Mattel reacted to a poster from Cronasia Foundation College, Inc. in the Philippines that used her image to illustrate makeup guidelines for graduation photos. The poster sparked online amusement and debate.

A poster at a local college has caught Trixie Mattel's attention, and the drag queen couldn't help but say, 'damn!' Cronasia Foundation College, Inc., a school in General Santos City, posted an infographic on the do's and don'ts for its students’ makeup for their graduation pictures. One photo showed a graduating student, with the instruction saying, “Do’s: Wear Simple and Light Make-up.” The photo beside it is one of Trixie in her full glam. “Dont’s: Overloaded makeup,” the text said.

The American drag artist and “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 3 winner saw the post and reacted to it on social media. “A college is using my picture for this,” she wrote on X. On Facebook, Trixie simply said, “damn!” Fans and fellow drag queens were amused at Trixie and the viral photo, and left witty comments on her post. “HAHAHA it’s in the Philippines! Lol,” Filipino drag artist Eva Le Queen replied on X. “I don’t understand. All I see is a natural woman with a minimalist, tasteful amount of blush,” a fan said on X. “It’s literally ‘foundation’ college and they’re going to limit the amount makeup people wear?” another fan commented on Facebook. Meanwhile, Cronasia released an official statement on their Facebook page to address “some misunderstanding and concern” in the viral post. “Our school, Cronasia Foundation College, Inc., acknowledges that the communication around the 'Do’s and Don’ts' for graduation pictures may have caused confusion and unintended frustration,” the school’s Basic Education Department said. “For this, we sincerely apologize to the people involved - Trixie Mattel and the Drag community, our students and our families. We also acknowledge that the use of certain words and punctuation was our fault,” they added. Cronasia said they will also revisit their guidelines “to ensure they are clear, inclusive and considerate of individual needs and preferences.” The school added that they will improve their communication and be more transparent. “We deeply regret any distress this may have caused and appreciate your understanding as we work to clarify the situation. Our commitment remains to celebrate each student’s success with fairness, dignity and inclusivity.
