Meralco new coach Luigi Trillo admits the Bolts are not 'in their best shape yet' heading to the weeklong 2023 Doha International Basketball Tournament in Qatar.
The Bolts dropped into the classification round following their 0-3 campaign in the group play that saw them bow to Kuwait's Al Arabi SC, 80-72, Egyptian club team Al Zamalek, 70-62, before suffering a narrow 81-87 defeat to Libya's Al Ahly.The team under Trillo and backstopped by active consultant Nenad Vucinic, absorbed a fourth straight loss in the Doha tournament after suffering a 75-56 beating at the hands of Moroccan club team Faith Union Sport on Friday night.
The 24-year-old Hunt, a product of NCAA Division 1 Southern Methodist University has been holding his own against seasoned foreign counterparts in the Doha tournament.Th former Birmingham Squadron forward from the NBA G League, scored 16 points and added eight rebounds against FUS, but the lack of local support left the Bolts being the dust in the second half, keeping them winless in the process.
