MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Railways is investigating the accident involving a collision between one of its trains and a tanker in Camarines Sur early Saturday. The crash at Paloyon Crossing in Nabua occurred at around 2:50 a.m. as the train, which is used to check railway tracks for safety before passenger trains operate, was traveling along the Legazpi-to-Naga route.
The railway agency is also coordinating with authorities, including the truck company Fuel2Go Distribution Co., as part of its investigation. In a statement, PNR apologized to the public for the disruption and assured that efforts were underway to restore the affected section of the Naga-Legazpi line, which is expected to be operational by Sunday morning.
