MANILA - Toyota Motor Philippines on Tuesday said it was launching a special service campaign to replace some curtain shield airbag computer of select Toyota Rush units which may have "programming issues."
Some units of the said model produced from April 2, 2018 to Feb. 7, 2019 "may have issues" in the programming of their airbag electric control units ," the car distributor said in a statement. The issue may result in premature deployment of the curtain shield airbag as the impact of rear wheel passing through a pothole or dent may be "misinterpreted as a collision," Toyota Motors Philippines said.Notified customers can get free replacements of the airbag ECU in any of the 70 authorized dealerships nationwide, the company said.
