The total solar eclipse cannot be seen in Cebu, Philippines, causing darkness during the day. Weather specialist Jhomer Eclarino of Pagasa Visayas stated that the eclipse can be observed in other parts of the world. Eclarino also dismissed claims on social media that the darkness will last for three days.

“Kadtong makasinati sa total solar eclipse, makasinati sila og temporaryong kangitngit tungod sa pag-align sa adlaw, bulan, ug yuta,” matod niya nga ang panghitabo mahitabo sulod sa pipila ka oras.Dugang pa, si Eclarino miingon usab nga ang mga espekulasyon sa tulo ka adlaw nga kangitngit dili tinuod tungod kay kini kulang sa siyentipikong ebidensya.Sa sayo pa, gipanghimakak usab ni Astronomer Nico Mendoza sa Pagasa central office ang maong pangangkon.
