BREAKING Top cop would have punished lewd-mouthed deputy differently ‘in hindsight’
Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll has conceded she gave a softer punishment to a deputy commissioner who called his friend a “vagina whisperer” because she was aware he was also the subject of a separate incident.
Rohweder was later promoted to chief superintendent after the incident, sparking concern over the police service’s promotion policies.O’Gorman told the inquiry Carroll was given a briefing note about possible actions for Carroll to impose on Taylor, which included a public apology about his comment, online training modules or a research paper about his conduct.
When asked by O’Gorman whether she would have asked Taylor to resign, Carroll explained she had a meeting with Taylor “straight after the hearing” on August 18.
