Motorists will start paying tolls on the Caloocan to España Boulevard stretch of the NLEX-SLEX Connector on August 8, 2023.

Motorists will start paying toll on the Caloocan to España Boulevard stretch of the NLEX-SLEX Connector on August 8.

This developed after the Toll Regulatory Board issued a Notice to Start Collection for the expressway’s recently opened stretch. The toll road will be the first to implement a 24/7 barrier-free Electronic Toll Collection System, according to the TRB on Facebook. "Motorists just need to slowdown for safety but need not stop at the toll plaza, resulting to a faster and more convenient travel," the TRB said.

"Thus, we encourage all the expressway users to use RFID not only at the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project, but to all the other expressways as well," it added.“Currently, around 14,000 motorists are using this new toll road daily enjoying a faster travel time of only around 5 minutes from the usual 30 minutes or more using the old routes,” TRB said.

A substantial portion of Section 2 from España to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard is targeted to be completed within the 4th Quarter of this year.
