MANILA, Philippines — Senator Francis Tolentino has filed a resolution calling for Christmas bonuses for job order and contractual employees in local government units .
In a statement on Tuesday, Tolentino filed Senate Resolution No. 272 calling on the Department of Budget and Management to order LGUs to provide Christmas bonuses to job orders and contractual workers by using local funds.Tolentino said the Commission on Audit “often disallowed” the giving bonuses for local government employees despite “lack of legal basis.”
Tolentino stressed that hardworking employees should be given rewards to “inspire them to continue serving with vigor and show them that their service is highly appreciated.”
