The Titan submersible carrying five people to the Titanic imploded near the site of the shipwreck and killed everyone on board, authorities said on Thursday, June 22.In the submersible were OceanGate Expeditions CEO and pilot Stockton Rush; prominent Pakistani family, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood; British adventurer Hamish Harding; and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet.
On Thursday morning, a robotic vehicle discovered the tail cone of the Titan on the ocean floor, followed by the front and back ends of the Titan’s hull. That debris will now be taken aboard a US Coast Guard cutter to a US port for further analysis, the organization said.
