Writing is not his full-time occupation, but Lance Robinson hopes the contest will bring more exposure to his work
THUNDER BAY — A city man who got hooked on science fiction in Grade 6 is looking to an international writing competition to advance his career.
Robinson's day job has him working in Thunder Bay as a government scientist in the field of forest ecosystem research. After living in Kenya for awhile, the Saskatchewan-born man moved back to Canada in 2019 and decided it was time to get back to the keyboard. He's not giving away the whole plot, but said, "Imagine the situation in which people from Earth are arriving on a new world. Our first attempt to leave the solar system, and expecting it was going to be one way, but finding out it was something different."
