Thunder Bay police say the incident occurred at the Circle K in the 100 block of Cumberland Street North on Friday evening.

A male entered the business, threatened staff with a knife, and fled on foot with some store merchandise and cash. The following morning, officers with the police service's primary response unit were dispatched to a homeless encampment in the area of 100 Pearl Street after reports that a suspect was in the vicinity.

Following a brief search there, they located a man at Algoma and Dufferin Streets where he was arrested without further incident. The 30-year-old was charged with armed robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime, and failure to comply with a probation order.
