THUNDER BAY – A Thunder Bay man who was wanted on numerous warrants faces multiple weapons and assault charges after being arrested Thursday.
Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Robbery Unit arrested David Allan Martell, 37, after discovering his whereabouts in the 200s block of Wilson Street, in the city’s north end just before 4 p.m. “Despite being positively identified by officers, the accused denied he was the male officers were looking for,” the TBPS stated, adding he was in possession of multiple weapons at the time, including a prohibited spring-loaded knife.
Martell was wanted on charges related to an alleged sexual assault incident that occurred on Wednesday, and a weapons offence dating to Aug. 24, police said.• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3• Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition• Uttering Threats – Death or Bodily Harm
Martell appeared in bail court on Friday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date, according to the TBPS.
