There are debates featuring mayoral candidates, as well as Ward 7 and Ward 8 candidates coming up this week, including events Oct. 12-13
There are at least two more ward debates and one more mayoral debate scheduled to take place, all of which this week.Opening remarks will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer period. The main focus will be on the city’s downtown core and candidates’ plans to address the challenges associated with it.
“We are excited to hear from the candidates and from our neighbours what issues are important to them and how the CAN can be part of future conversations and projects to help make our community a better place for all,” Ward 8 CAN chair Rachelle Niemela said in a media release.Next up will be a debate featuring Ward 7 candidates on Oct. 13 at the Garson Arena beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will be the second debate for the ward’s four candidates, who debated at the Capreol Arena last month.
