Three people, including a toddler, have been injured in a serious collision in regional Victoria on Tuesday morning. Police say a truck crashed into the back of another truck which had pulled over to the side of the South Gippsland Hwy in Koo Wee Rup about 9.45am. A sedan driving behind then crashed into the truck A male truck driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

Ambulance Victoria says it sent “significant” resources to the scene including an intensive care ambulance and an air ambulance helicopter. The sedan driver, a woman, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver of the truck which had pulled over, a 30-year-old man from Pakenham, was not injured. He has spoken to police. “The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing,” police said.
