THREE wanted individuals were arrested in Negros Occidental for alleged violations of Section 8(ii) of Republic Act (RA) 10168, or the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012. The arrests were carried out by joint police and the members of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division of the Philippine Army led by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).

Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) Director Brigadier General Jack Wanky praised the coordinated efforts of law enforcement, government agencies, and military units in building the case and ensuring the filing of anti-terrorism financing charges.“Terrorism financing remains the single, most utilized strategy by the CPP-NPA-NDF in their desperate bid to overthrow our democratic government. It is their lifeblood to support their operations,” Wanky said.Wanky said that removing the source of funds and prosecuting those who facilitate their generation will ultimately put an end to the CPP-NPA-NDF.He emphasized that terrorism financing is a crime against humanity, allowing terrorists to cause harm and chaos in society, and should not be tolerated.The first operation took place at 4:10 p.m. on January 2, 2025, in Barangay 1, La Carlota City, resulting in the arrest of alias Dharyl, 41, a resident of Barangay 3, Isabela, Negros Occidental.The second operation, conducted at 8:23 p.m. on the same day in Barangay Man-uling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of alias Perla, 57.The third arrest occurred at 9 p.m. in Purok Pandan, Barangay Pagayon, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental. Alias Pedring, 63, a resident of the area, was apprehended.The three suspects were identified as members of the Paghidaet sa Kauswagan Development Group, Incorporated based in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. Authorities allege the organization was used to fund terrorism-related activities.In 2024, charges were filed against the accused for RA 10168 violation
