Romance is in the air at the Bannerman Park Loop to wrap up Chillfest. Valentine’s date night is covered with a romantic evening under the lights with candles, decorations, free hot chocolate and your favourite sappy love songs from 7-9 p.m. This event is weather and ice dependent; call the Loop Line 733-5667 to see if The Loop is open.Head to Holyrood for the Crystal Carnival, which kicks off Friday, Feb. 17 and runs until Feb. 26.
Some of the other events include a free senior's Valentine's social at the legion from noon-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14; Winterfest evening campfires from 6-9 p.m. at Sgt. Ned Nugent’s Field on Feb. 14 ; a Feb. 15 community fundraising bingo on Feb. 15 for the CBS Minor Softball Association at 7 p.m. at All Saints Parish Hall; the 11th annual Paul Nippard Memorial co-ed volleyball tournament Feb.
Search and Rescue operations often take place in remote and hard to access locations. To achieve the most realistic training, the harsh environment of Labrador was chosen to challenge the aircraft crews and SAR technicians. Safety of the exercise participants and the civilian population is of the highest priority. Steps have been taken to avoid disturbing human and wildlife populations.
